An Artistic Trip to Macao

With such rich culture embedded in the city, Macao itself is a work of art. Which is why it's only natural to find various art exhibits when you are visiting Macao, contributing to your Artistic Trip.


In this month of October alone, Macao has a number of unique mix of traditional and contemporary art exhibits to offer which is a shame to miss, so make sure you include them in your itinerary when you are there! One of the art exhibits happening now until 29 November 2017 at Taipa Village Art Space is Allen Wong’s solo exhibition “Who am I”, featuring video and mixed media installations based on Wong’s recurrent theme of traditional Chinese bird cages that explores the concept of thaumatrope.

That's not all, the “Purge One’s Mind: Trio Exhibition by Leong Kit Man, Im Hok Lon and Mok Hei Sai” is ongoing till 25 November 2017 at the Anim’Arte Nam Van. It is an inspiring painting and calligraphy work exhibition featuring a total of 25 artworks by three young artists.

As you discover places in Macao, you will find majestic works of art, casually in plain sight. And that's the beauty of Macao, a city that celebrates art. One of the notable arts is the Crystal Pool at the Galaxy Macao, which cost US$20 million and was designed by four-time Emmy Award winner Jeremy Railton.

The Macao Museum of Art and the Cinematheque Passion, an independent art house cinema are just some of the places you can visit for more art discovery during your Macao Artistic Trip. Here's a route that you can explore which takes around 34 minutes:

Other than arts, there is also the 17th Macao Food Festival which will be held from 10 - 26 November at Sai Van Lake Square where local favourites and delicacies from around the world await, accompanied by live music and entertainment!

The legendary Macau Grand Prix is also an event not to be missed! If you are looking to add more excitement to your trip, make sure you catch the Suncity Group 64th Macau Grand Prix from 16 - 19 November 2017.
