2018 will be a huge year superhero fans because there’s just too many crime fighters, defenders of the world coming to the big screen this year.
2017 had its fair share of superhero movies. Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Spider Man 2, it was a pretty good year for Marvel and DC combined.
Starting off with the Black Panther
It will be released on 25th of February. Black Panther is richer than Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark, Lex Luthor all combined and this king is standing up for something so good, even Captain America has his back. It’s one not to miss, given the villain is Michael B. Jordan, and you don’t just miss a Marvel movie.
X-Men: New Mutants
This caught me by surprise, not because Marvel is producing a horror film, but the movie is seemingly going against the direction of the trend of superhero blockbusters. We can see from Deadpool, to Spider Man and now Thor are wanting to be funny and cool at the same time. Not New Mutants, they want to scare the s**t out of you. It’s all about spirits and haunted by ghosts or werewolf. It will be released on 13th of April.
Avengers: Infinity War
You're lying if you said you weren’t excited when the trailer dropped last year that racked up hundred millions of view within a day on YouTube. Its link Iron Man, Black Panther, Guardians of The Galaxy, Dr. Strange… all compressed into one film, or two. It’s too epic to miss this one out. Infinity Wars will premiere on 26th April.
He is funny, witty, bit of an a-hole and an immortal. Deadpool has revolutionized the superhero scene into action-comedy. Ryan Reynolds is able to match the character of Deadpool with the extreme violence and crazily humourous tight fit red suit hero. Prepare to laugh yourself out in the cinema when it releases on the 31st of May.
This has been long overdue when the first movie was released back in 2004. It kept us waiting and it finally teased us with the baby using his powers on his dad, Mr. Incredible. Incredible 2 will premiere June 14th.
Ant Man & The Wasp
A bit skeptical when Paul Rudd first played Ant Man, but I shouldn’t judge him based on his previous roles. Adding to the hero list is the Wasp, the first female superhero to get the name on the movie title. This could feed us on our void after Infinity Wars. Ant Man will be released on the 6th of July.
The anti-superhero looked so cool when he first appeared in on the Toby Maguire’s Spiderman 3. That was the first and the last we’ve seen Venom in the suit with Spiderman surrounding him with beams to create vibration. And now, Venom is brought back to life and anyone better than the bada** Tom Hardy to do the job? I think not. Bane was dark and evil, I’m sure Venom could be heartless, even darker, even more evil. Venom premieres on the 5th of October.
X-Men: Dark Phoenix
Been a huge fan of the mutants supergroup ever since. The only disappointment they had was not fully casting Gambit as part of the X-Man, and also the crazy death of Cyclops. James McAvoy should carry on the throne of Patrick Stewart when he retires from acting, because he’s just too good with Professor X. Also, Wolverine is gone L RIP Logan, it will never be the same without you. The best part of X-Men: Apocalypse was the last scene when all of them finally suit up with the yellow and blue tightsuit. X-Men will premiere on November 2nd.
Ultimate Animated Spider Man movie
This is neither a Toby Maguire comeback or Andrew Garfield saving Gwen from dropping or Tom Holland with the young Aunt May. This is an animated movie that will be focused on Miles Morales. He is another Spiderman dressed in a black and red suit, which he is basically an upgrade of the normal Spiderman of wall climbing and web slinging. This Spiderman can camouflage and has his own ultimate power. The animated movie will be screen on December 14th.
I urge you to watch the animated movie of Aquaman before entering the cinema for this because Aquaman’s backdrop of the character is very interesting. He’s a demigod, just like Percy Jackson, and he also has to take care of his single parent, just like Superman. Patrick Wilson will be the evil brother of Arthur Curry and Black Manta the evil brother’s side bitch to take over the underwater world. Justice League might have let you down, but what’s there to lose to watch Jason Momoa? The Rock might, but that’s fine, Baywatch was unwatchable. Aquaman comes to the surface on December 21st.
Yeah the DCU has its flaws when it comes to the big screen, but over on the internet, the cartoons are a must watch to offset the flaws of real life production. The Killing Joke, Flashpoint Paradox, Justice League: Dark, etc, make you want more and more of it. Maybe some things should be left untouch, like the Justice League to forever be a cartoon.
Suicide Squad: Hell To Pay
The trailer was good, but the movie was appaling. Leave Jared Leto alone. Suicide Squad gets a second chance but as cartoon with more characters crossing over. The DCU cartoons never disappoint once.
